Elagabalus

(Marcus Aurelius Antoninus)

Augustus (218AD-222AD)

Grand nephew of Septimius Severus, Elagabalus came to the throne due to his connections as a youth. Ill suited for the job, he quickly became unpopular and many lurid stories regarding his escapades abounded. Murdered by the praetorians and replaced by his cousin Severus Alexander.
